Frezoli

Today I felt like posting something about Frezoli: a dutch design lamp, inspired by the heavy, massive lamps which used to hang in for example factories.

These buildings often had a unique atmosphere, because of those lamps. Nowadays it's associated with the loft style.

What I like about it? How it's rough on the edges, but elegant..
And the atmosphere it creates is just stunning!

Knotted chair - By Marcel Wanders

Ten years ago, Droog started the project Dry Tech together with the Delft University of Technology, faculty of Aerospace Engineering. The Knotted Chair by Marcel Wanders is one of the best known designs from the first edition of this project.

This lightweight chair combines industrial techniques and handcrafting. A thread constructed of aramid and carbon fibres, is knotted into the shape of a chair and then impregnated with epoxy resin and hung in a frame to dry, leaving the final form in the hands of gravity. The Knotted chair was a result of Droog’s 1996 Dry Tech I project.

Recently Marcel Wanders published his first large-format monograph on his interiors and building projects. It's definitely on my most wanted list. I just love the energy and inspiration you get, when reading about an artist at work.
