Dilemma of the day: is it better to be different in your space designs or just better to stick to the usual..

It has been 2 weeks since I started my education to become a real interior designer.
The only thing that I can think of is to study, draw sketches, make planning of  rooms and light plans of those.

On my first class we had to make out first room plan, I thought I will create a wall in the living room breaking the huge space, creating privacy at the sitting area and making it just different from usual..  plus my wall was round!
The teacher found it different... very creative... and she wasn't able to come up with more words... Was it now good or bad is still my question...
So, dilemma of the day: is it better to be creative and different form the rest in your designs or is it just better to stick to what is considered to be normal and out there...?

With that question, I will be going to sleep today.

Do you know what is better?

Shopping list or how to decorate as Rebecca Orlov

Here is my first shopping list, or how to decorate as...

This post I will be doing in Dutch, as my shopping list will be referring to the dutch shops.
So here I come:

Beauty of interview with images

Today I was taking a better look at  a website that I came across once.
Its a Germain website with interviews of interesting artistic people. What I like about that website is  that every interview is being posted with beautiful images.
Today I was reading an interview with the Designer Leyla Piedayesh - Founder and Designer of Lala Berlin, Studio, Berlin-Mitte. I always like to see creative people at their work place. I believe a good working place can be an inspiration to your further work as well.

I am inspired by working places like these. In places like these you can feel the atmosphere, the emotions, pure beauty and inspiration.

By posting the following images I hope that you will get inspired just like me to work on your home, office, working room, to create something so beautiful and personal.

If you wish to read the interview, you can find it here

What do you think? Are you being inspired as well?

Quote of the day..

I am being totally into that space that Rebecca created. I feel really inspired and driven to just jump up, get my credit card to run to the shop to give a whole face lift to my office space at home!
So, here is comes, the quote of the day by Rebecca Orlov (that name sounds Russian, dont you think):

Best advice: Create a space that works for you and makes you feel good. Part of this is organizing your things – no one wants to work around a lot of “stuff”. My tip for setting up an organized space quickly is to initially dedicate time each day to actually get it done. When I moved in to my apartment, I spent one hour in the morning and one or two hours in the evening to unpack and set things up in each room. I got the office completed in just a day or two with a bit of time management.

Weekend Bliss - inspiring work room from California

I am feeling sooooo inspired by this amazing home office published on Unpluggd from Rebecca Orlov.
I love the white and the light grey shades, piles of magazine and book and of course the Mac!

Nowadays I am thinking of finishing decorating my work room at home. This is definitely what I would like to create.

You can  read about this amazing room here.

Have a great weekend!
